Martial Arts Madness (No it’s Not a Damn Panda)
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve got a sweet spot for over the top asian cinema. The exaggerated and impossible fight scenes do it for me. I’m not talking the super cool Bruce Lee stuff where it’s just him whooping ass. Don’t get me wrong I like the regular stuff, I just need something more kinda like my porn. I’m talking wuxia* or any parody of it, kinda like Crouching Tiger or Shaolin Soccer. Why am I bringing this up? Oh you know why…
The Forbidden Kingdom that’s why. You’ve got Jackie Chan (go see the original Drunken Master) and Jet Li (take your pick) finally sharing the screen. Sure you’ve got some white boy in it, but at least you can’t whine about subtitles. It opens today so go check it out.
*not going to lie, i had no idea it was really called wuxia.
I cant wait to see this one. I may just have to check it out before i go to work. Finally seeing Chan and Li in one movie is insane!
Looks good man, too bad I have no idea when I will be seeing my next movie. Just hoping I can survive this week at work, then we shall see.
